Space Race

From Jamie Sumner, the acclaimed author of Roll with It, comes a radiant, heartfelt novel in verse about a girl's mad dash to the rocketeer contest of her dreams--an epic road trip full of hijinks that may just bring her fractured family back together. Life is about to turn upside down for Sidney Ellen Wade and her family. With three days until liftoff, Sid must get from west Texas all the way to northern Alabama in order to compete in the Young Rocketeer's Challenge. First prize? A free ticket to Space Camp, which would be a dream come true for Sid. But there's a catch: The only way to get there is a road trip with her mom, her dad, her beloved gerbil Stan, and her older brother, Dalton, who is serving court-appointed community service--and is also possibly the worst person on the planet to be trapped with in a confined space. With an unreliable family truck and an even more unreliable brother, will Sid ever make it in time?
