Part of the Peach Street Mudders series
Alfie must decide whether to help a rival who might take his spot on the team.
Alfie Maples, right fielder for the Peach Street Mudders, is tasked with mentoring Roberti Frantelli, a seemingly inept newcomer. As Alfie teaches him the game, he suspects Roberti might replace him in the lineup. Torn between loyalty and self-preservation, Alfie faces a dilemma: should he continue helping Roberti, or protect his own position? With the next game approaching, Alfie must navigate this unexpected challenge and uncover the truth about Roberti's role on the team. Will he choose friendship or competition?
Right fielder Alfie Maples is mystified by the newest member of the Peach Street Mudders. As far as Alfie can see, Roberti Frantelli can barely catch a ball or hit. Then Coach Parker asks Alfie to show the newcomer the ropes. Alfie is flattered and teaches Roberti all he can – but begins to suspect that the coach plans to start Roberti in his position in the next game! Who is this strange new player, and can Alfie continue to help him play his best?
