Bookroo's summary

In a world where words rule, this book turns reading into a comedic adventure. With no pictures, the reader must say every silly, nonsensical word aloud, from 'BLORK' to 'BLAGGITY BLAGGITY.' Kids will delight in the absurdity, while parents find themselves unexpectedly entertaining. What happens when a book defies expectations and turns the reader into the star of the show? Discover the joy of laughter and the power of words in this uniquely funny read-aloud experience.

From the publisher

A #1 New York Times bestseller, this innovative and wildly funny read-aloud by award-winning humorist/actor B.J. Novak will turn any reader into a comedian.

You might think a book with no pictures seems boring and serious. Except . . . here’s how books work. Everything written on the page has to be said by the person reading it aloud. Even if the words say . . .

BLORK. Or BLUURF.

Even if the words are a preposterous song about eating ants for breakfast, or just a list of astonishingly goofy sounds like BLAGGITY BLAGGITY and GLIBBITY GLOBBITY.

Cleverly irreverent and irresistibly silly, The Book with No Pictures is one that kids will beg to hear again and again. (And parents will be happy to oblige.)

5.5

This book will have everyone laughing, as it makes the readers say all sorts of silly things. :) Even though there aren't pictures, kids (and parents) will be so entertained. This book does talk about a hippo names "BooBooButt," but that's the only sort of silly name that's shared that might be repeated. ;)
