Summer vacation is going great for a girl who has everything to herself–including Grandpa–until a gray patch arrives.

Time moves slowly on vacation. And for someone who has had the garden, the kitchen, the forest paths, and the lake—as well as Grandpa—all to herself, inviting another in on the fun can be hard. So when the young girl’s grandfather brings an elephant home to stay, she is not happy about it at all. Nostalgic and often dreamlike, this wordless story is about interrupted solitude, learning how to be together with another, and how the choices we make deeply affect our lives.
