Three children go on a leaf hunt, climbing a mountain, traveling through a forest, going around a waterfall, and crossing a lake in search of leaves from different trees before an unexpected peril makes them turn back.
I found this to be a poorly done riff of "We're Going on a Bear Hunt"... no real story or substance and the illustrations are just okay. If you're looking for a book about leaves I'm not even sure this is it, since it only teaches you about three kinds throughout the book. It's not a terrible book... but it's just not that great either.
I am the award-winning author of more than 70 picture books, including “Detective Blue” (starred review from School Library Journal), “Pluto Visits Earth” (ABC Best Books for Children), and my upcoming “Yes, I Can Listen!” I live in New York City with my beautiful wife and talkative cat, Biscuit, who has been immortalized in my latest picture book, “”Princess Kitty.”” My daughter is currently attending college, where she is a Junior. One of my favorite activities is biking around Central Park, where cars are now forbidden.
