Stories behind the story

Where did you originally get the idea for A is for Alliguitar?

Standing on the village pier, I was thinking about my youth orchestra reunion I was about to go to when someone yelled, "Look, there's an alligator!" My wires crossed, and Alliguitar popped into my head. I had been wanting to write a different sort of alphabet book, and that was an A. I decided to keep going through the alphabet. By Nancy Raines Day (author)

What was the hardest part about creating A is for Alliguitar?

Herb Leonard may have had the hardest part--actually creating all 26 musical alphabeasts I had imagined. He did a magnificent job! By Nancy Raines Day (author)
