Hi! I’m Laura Gehl. I spent many happy hours reading books as a kid, and now I get to spend many happy hours…and many frustrated, banging-my-head-against-the-wall hours…writing books for kids. Pretty much the best job ever. Except for the banging-my-head-against-the-wall part. These days, I also get to spend many happy hours reading books to my own four kids. Julia Patton is an author and illustrator of over 50 titles lives and works in a rustic woodshed in rural Northumberland, UK. Julia gained an MA in Illustration from Edinburgh University and her picture books are inspired by extensive adventures visiting family scattered around the globe. Her illustration style is a combination of traditional and digital mixed media collages, hand drawn typography with a passion for diagrams and gadgets. When she’s not in the studio you’ll find Julia making tree houses and wild camping.
