This is a pretty sweet tribute to mothers. Even though it is entirely wearing to be needed all the time, especially when little ones are sick, it is extremely fulfilling.

Audrey Vernick has published more than 20 books for young readers including many nonfiction baseball picture books. She loves baseball and pizza and ice cream and lives with her family and dog near the ocean in New Jersey.
Liz Garton Scanlon is the author of numerous celebrated picture books, including One Dark Bird; In the Canyon; Happy Birthday, Bunny!; the Caldecott Honor recipient All the World; and Thank You, Garden. Liz is an adjunct professor of creative writing at Austin Community College, and her poetry has been published widely in literary journals. She lives with her family in Austin, Texas. Matthew Cordell is author and illustrator of Wolf in the Snow, winner of the Caldecott Medal, Trouble Gum, Another Brother, hello! hello!, and Wish. He has illustrated the books of renowned authors including Philip Stead (Special Delivery), Rachel Vail (the Justin Case series), and Gail Carson Levine (Forgive Me, I Meant To Do It). He lives outside of Chicago with his wife, the novelist Julie Halpern, and their two children.
