When she is rescued from a rainy, boggy town where she works in a dismal factory, ten-year-old orphan Isabelle learns that she is the last surviving member of a family that tends the world’s only remaining magic-producing farm.
This has been one of my favorite books to read aloud with our family. My husband read this to us and spoke in different voices for each character which made us all laugh. The boys never wanted our reading time to end for the night. We were always intrigued as to what would happen next. In this book, we meet characters who are as good as gold and those who are as rotten as they come, and some who are in between, but fortunately good triumphs. The story brings such a fun magical aspect to life. I hope there is a sequel so we can all spend more time on this magical farm.
