“What do you want to be when you grow up?” a mother asks her little girl. “I just want to be little right now, “ the girl replies. Being little, she knows, means being able to do things grown-ups don’t do. It means going barefoot in summertime, eating snow when it first falls, dressing up on Halloween, or just spending a dreamy afternoon watching the rain run down a windowpane. The little girl knows there will be plenty of time to be a grown-up…someday.
