Julia Donaldson celebrates her readers in this delightful and imaginative picture book, inspired by the children she has met at hundreds of book signings over the years. I’ve signed for boys called Romeoand girls called Juliet .I’ve signed for Roman, Saxon, Dane-Though not for Norman yet. From months of the year, colours, flowers, food and gemstones, Julia has seamlessly grouped together a charming selection of children’s names and woven them together in her unmistakable rhyming style. Set in a magical transforming bookshop, Julia Donaldson’s Book of Names is a love letter to the world of books and young bookworms - illustrated by the award-winning Nila Aye. Readers will enjoy trying to find their own name, and even if it isn’t included, there is a special dedicated space for them to add it, or even better, for Julia to sign!
Julia Donaldson is the bestselling author of many books for children, including One Ted Falls Out of Bed, The Gruffalo, and The Giants and the Joneses. She splits her time between England and Scotland with her family.
After graduating from her sell-out show at Central Saint Martins in 1995, Nila Aye became a firm favorite of the London illustration scene. Nila is influenced by mid- century design and children’s books from this era. She describes her work as “Retro modern with a cute twist, and a touch of humor.”
