Where did the idea of Just for Me originate?
Well, I wanted to make a second Ruby book and sharing is a big milestone for most kids 2-5yo. The funny thing is, kids begin to get special things starting from a very young age and the gift giver may say, "Just for YOU!" But when a friend comes to play, or even a sibling, it can be very difficult to share these special things, like a dolly or blanket. And with this book, I wanted to emphasize that it is okay to keep some tings to ourselves, but it's so much more fun to share and take turns when a friend comes to play. With ever changing expressions on my characters, it's a great book to follow along and talk about the emotions that the girls are experiening...especially how great it feels when they both settle in together and are able to share.
