Lio is a carousel horse at one of Hawaii’s carnivals. He loves being on the merry-go-round and making kids happy until one day, Lio decides to break free and see what lies beyond the carousel walls. He visits all the different types of horses on the island: a police horse, a pau horse, a polo horse, a paniolo horse, and more. He learns all about their special jobs and what they do to make Hawaii a better place. In the end, Lio realizes his job as a carousel horse is the best job for him.
