When she ventures to her grandmother’s to deliver rice cakes and herbal medicine, she encounters something much more fearsome than a wolf–a mighty dragon. With her wits and a sword in hand, Little Red must valiantly defend herself and her grandmother in this vibrant retelling from Ying Chang Compestine and Joy Ang. An author’s note discusses how this reimagining is influenced by Chinese mythology, symbolism, traditional medicine, and other elements of Compestine’s heritage.

Hello, my name is Joy Ang and I’m currently a freelance artist living in Edmonton. Lately I’ve been illustrating children’s books and working as a character designer on Adventure Time. I was born in Calgary, Alberta, and graduated from the Alberta College of Art & Design with a Bachelor of Design in 2007. I got my start making art professionally with Udon Comics and got into the gaming industry with BioWare.
