J. M. Barrie (1860–1937) was a Scottish author and playwright best known for creating Peter Pan. He first introduced the character in a play in 1904 and later turned it into a beloved novel. Barrie donated all the rights to Peter Pan to a children’s hospital in London, where they remain to this day.
