“Let me be clear: I was not a kid who loved all fantasy young adult literature. I liked fantasy in small doses, and especially avoided the worlds of "high fantasy." But take those fantasy novels and make all the characters cute little rodents, and I somehow found it more palatable. As a fourth grader, I really enjoyed reading Redwall. I didn't read many more books in the series, but it drew me in and kept me engaged right to the end.”
