For parents

What Parents Should Know

The books play with familiar fairy tales, but the danger is real: children are kidnapped or separated from family, villains use magic, and characters face battles, traps, and threats. The action is adventurous rather than graphic.

Gilly begins as a thief trying to help her struggling family. The stories explore consequences, trust, loyalty, and whether people can change, with plenty of humor alongside the suspense.
