Jody Jensen Shaffer is an award-winning poet and the author of more than 30 books of fiction and nonfiction for children, including THE WAY THE COOKIE CRUMBLED, A CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK, IT’S YOUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, BUSY BUS! and PRUDENCE THE PART-TIME COW, Missouri’s pick for the National Book Festival in Washington D.C. Jody’s poetry has been published in magazines like Highlights, Ladybug, and Clubhouse Jr. Jody lives with her husband and kids in Liberty, Missouri, and is a member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Claire Messer is a recent graduate of the Cambridge School of Art. She works by hand, using traditional printmaking processes to create her illustrations. She lives in the UK. Grumpy Pants is her first book.
