Leaders Doing Headstands Books

Rachel Ruiz is the author of several children’s books. She was inspired to write her first picture book, When Penny met POTUS, after working for Barack Obama on his re-election campaign in 2012. When Rachel isn’t writing books, she writes and produces TV shows and documentaries. She lives in her hometown of Chicago with her husband and their daughter.

Daniel Duncan is an illustrator living in the UK who creates most of his work in an old stable turned studio. His work takes inspiration from cinema, old photos, and sports. Duncan graduated from Middlesex University with First Class Honours, and a bachelor’s degree in illustration. He was highly commended by Macmillan for the 2013 Children’s Book Competition, as well as being shortlisted for the 2014 AOI awards for the Children’s Books New Talent category.

Luciano Lozano Raya was born in southern Spain. He studied illustration in Barcelona, where he now lives. His work reflects a strong sense of color and texture, a frequent use of traditional techniques, and an undercurrent of subtle humor running throughout.

Chiara Fedele was born in Milan, Italy. After graduating from art school, she attended the Brera Academy in Milan. Her illustrations have appeared in many picture books. Chiara also teaches drawing and painting techniques. She lives in Pavia, Italy.
