Mighty Jack and Zita the Spacegirl is a later crossover and the finale of the separate Mighty Jack trilogy—not Zita book #4. It makes the most sense after the Zita trilogy and the first two Mighty Jack books.

The adventure begins with a child's abduction through a portal and grows to include monsters, captures, prison, battles, threatened planets, and characters making serious sacrifices. The action is shown in colorful cartoon panels rather than graphic detail, but some turns can feel emotionally weighty.
Friendship, loyalty, courage, and taking responsibility are the heart of the trilogy. The visual storytelling is lively and often funny, while the continuing plot rewards reading the books in order.
