TIBOR GERGELY (1900-1978), who was born in Hungary and emigrated to the U.S. in 1939, brought to life some of Golden Books’ most classic and beloved characters, including Tootle, Scuffy the Tugboat, and The Little Red Caboose.
Illustrator Dave Aikins grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, immersed in comic books, action figures and B-movies. He graduated from the Columbus College of Art & Design in 1995 and worked for a large newspaper and commercial art studio before founding Let’s Draw Studio, his freelance illustration studio, in 1998. Hee now lives outside Columbus, OH with his family and continues to produce work for clients in the areas of advertising, product design and publishing.
