Annie Bach has been drawing since she was a little girl and still loves to create the same playful, whimsical creatures she imagined as a child. Annie draws inspiration from animals and nature, and brings her characters to life through digital media, paint, and ink. She lives with her family in Seattle, Washington. This is her first book.
Simone Shin is an award-winning illustrator and a graduate of Boston University and the Art Center College of Design. She began working as a freelancer illustrating for magazines and newspapers, and teaching children in the arts, eventually venturing into children’s book illustration. Her inspiration comes from her highly active young son, as well as her strong interests in music, nature, and family history. In her spare time she likes to create things with fabric and cardboard for fun—game boards, telephones, record players, violins, dollhouses, just about anything she can think of! After residing for many years in the Los Angeles area, Simone currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I grew up in Loveland, Colorado where I spent my childhood days drawing cats, mermaids and treehouses. When not drawing I could be found making shoe box dioramas, building snow forts with my brother, or watching the Muppet Show. I’ve illustrated several books for kids including BABY LOVE by Angela DiTerlizzi, HENRY WANTS MORE! by Linda Ashman, and the CUPCAKE COUSINS series by Kate Hannigan. My first book as author/illustrator, BRAVE MOLLY, will be released by Chronicle in the spring of 2019.

Shahrzad Maydani is an illustrator and storyteller living and working in Berkeley, California. She was raised in Africa by an Iranian mother and an English father, and she spent her childhood collecting and telling stories.
