Alyssa Satin Capucilli is the award-winning creator and author of the Katy Duck series and the bestselling Biscuit series, which has sold over twenty-four million copies. A dancer as well as a writer, she lives with her family in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York.

Terry Pierce is the author of twenty children’s books, including Mama Loves You So, My Busy Green Garden, and Tae Kwon Do! (2007 Bank Street College Best Children’s Books). She has a BA degree in early childhood development and an AMI Montessori teaching diploma. She was a Montessori teacher for twenty-two years before deciding to follow her dream of writing for children. She has an MFA in writing for children & young adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts, including the picture book Concentration certification. Cari Meister has written more than 130 books for children, including the Tiny series (Penguin) and the Fast Forward Fairy Tales series (Scholastic). Cari is a school librarian and she loves to visit other schools and libraries to talk about the joy of reading and writing. Annie Bach has been drawing since she was a little girl and still loves to create the same playful, whimsical creatures she imagined as a child. Annie draws inspiration from animals and nature, and brings her characters to life through digital media, paint, and ink. She lives with her family in Seattle, Washington. This is her first book.

Simone Shin is an award-winning illustrator and a graduate of Boston University and the Art Center College of Design. She began working as a freelancer illustrating for magazines and newspapers, and teaching children in the arts, eventually venturing into children’s book illustration. Her inspiration comes from her highly active young son, as well as her strong interests in music, nature, and family history. In her spare time she likes to create things with fabric and cardboard for fun—game boards, telephones, record players, violins, dollhouses, just about anything she can think of! After residing for many years in the Los Angeles area, Simone currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I grew up in Loveland, Colorado where I spent my childhood days drawing cats, mermaids and treehouses. When not drawing I could be found making shoe box dioramas, building snow forts with my brother, or watching the Muppet Show. I’ve illustrated several books for kids including BABY LOVE by Angela DiTerlizzi, HENRY WANTS MORE! by Linda Ashman, and the CUPCAKE COUSINS series by Kate Hannigan. My first book as author/illustrator, BRAVE MOLLY, will be released by Chronicle in the spring of 2019.

SAM WILLIAMS has created, written, and illustrated numerous titles for children selling in many languages all over the world. His titles include Cold Little Duck, Duck, Duck by Lisa Westberg-Peters (Greenwillow), The No More series with Bernette Ford (Boxer Books), and Little Red by Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, Baby Cakes by Karma Wilson, and his new series Noah’s Park, published in the USA by Simon and Schuster.

Shahrzad Maydani is an illustrator and storyteller living and working in Berkeley, California. She was raised in Africa by an Iranian mother and an English father, and she spent her childhood collecting and telling stories. She now spends her days frantically making up worlds to keep her toddler happy. Poetree is her debut picture book.

Jenni Desmond is the illustrator of On the Night of the Shooting Star by Amy Hest and the author-illustrator of The Blue Whale and The Polar Bear, among other books for young readers. Jenni Desmond lives and works in London.
