Peter and the Starcatchers Books

Read the four numbered Starcatchers novels in order, from Peter and the Starcatchers through Peter and the Sword of Mercy. The first three form the original storyline, while book four returns to the same conflict years later.

The Bridge to Never Land is an unnumbered continuation with modern-day protagonists who discover that the Starcatchers stories are real. Read it after the four numbered books so its references and returning characters make sense.

The books combine humor and adventure with pirates, battles, weapons, captivity, shipwrecks, child peril, deaths, and increasingly frightening shadow creatures. Some invented island peoples and villains are described through broad cultural stereotypes that families may want to discuss. The violence is generally non-graphic, but the books are long and later entries have darker suspense.
