The Creatives Behind the Book
Meg Fleming comes from a long line of sailors. She learned to sail from her dad . . . who learned to sail from his dad. Her first job aboard a boat was holding the end of the line. She was 3. (And she was good at it!) Meg’s favorite thing about sailing are the stories, which is probably why she spends so much time writing them now! She is the author of Ready, Set, Build!, I Heart You, and Sometimes Rain. She writes from her home outside of San Francisco with her husband, three kids, and dog on deck. Diana Sudyka is a Chicago based illustrator. Early on she created screenprinted gig posters for musicians but currently her illustration work focuses on young adult, middle grade, and children’s books. She has illustrated several volumes of the award-winning book series The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart and Circus Mirandus by Cassie Beasley, as well as Sometimes Rain by Meg Fleming.
