When Mr. and Mrs. Burrow need a babysitter, they are not expecting Bear. But Bear is the only one who shows up, so Bear gets the job of babysitting seven little bunnies who are full of mischief. Together, the bunnies persuade Bear to read a scary book, give them chocolate for dinner, and go crazy with the garden hose! But when the bunnies find Bear sailing the high seas in a make-believe ship, suddenly he isn’t such a bad babysitter after all.

Ruth Quayle used to be a newspaper and magazine writer and copyeditor, but she’s much happier working from home as a freelance writer. When her three children aren’t sending soccer balls whizzing past her ears and persuading her that sweets are healthy, they’re saying funny things that she scribbles down and turns into stories. She lives in Buckinghamshire, England.
Alison Friend is the illustrator of several children’s books, including Scrawny Cat by Phyllis Root, What Color Is Caesar? by Maxine Kumin, and the Bramble and Maggie stories by Jessie Haas. She also illustrates and designs greeting cards. Alison Friend has loved painting and drawing for as long as she can remember, especially animals, which she copied from wildlife books and encyclopedias as a child. She lives in South Yorkshire, England.
