Bookroo's summary

Join the Grouchy Ladybug on a whimsical journey as she encounters various animals, each bigger than the last. Her bad temper and refusal to share or be polite lead to unexpected lessons. Will she discover that being grouchy isn't the best way to make friends? This vibrant tale introduces young readers to concepts of time, size, and shape, while exploring the importance of kindness and friendship. While I absolutely adore Eric Carle's books in general and particularly his signature illustration style, the repetitiveness of the wording in this story is great for young readers but becomes a little painful as a read aloud. This book is great for reinforcing telling time (with the clock in the corner of each page showing what time it is) and introduces kids to a host of bugs and then increasingly larger animals. Is it better to fight or to share? The grouchy ladybug might just learn a thing or two.
