Every child with a tablet already takes more pictures in a week than their grandparents took in a decade, which makes photography the rare art form kids practice constantly and think about almost never. The books here fix that. A photograph is a decision—where to stand, what to leave out, when to press—and the moment a child understands that framing is a choice, the ordinary walk to school turns into a hunt. Some of these books teach that directly. Others simply hand it over, one snowflake or one Harlem stoop at a time.
