An Even Farther Very, Very Far North
Duane the polar bear has more delightful adventures with his arctic animal friends in this illustrated middle grade companion novel to The Very, Very Far North, which "wonderfully follow[s] in the tradition of A. A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh stories" (Booklist, starred review), and Just Beyond the Very, Very Far North. If you head north, thoroughly north, to the northernmost part of north, where snowmen wear sweaters, where icicles get frostbite, and where February refuses to visit--and then once you reach that north, you go just a little bit farther north, that's where you'll find Duane the polar bear and his friends. Duane will likely greet you with an affectionate bear hug...unless he's napping. C.C. the owl will address you with a few interesting facts...unless she's working on an experiment. Twitch the arctic hare will have one or twelve types of cookies on offer and Handsome the musk ox will offer excellent grooming tips, unless...well, the point is that they all have busy lives. Even so, a guest such as yourself would always be a welcome surprise.
