Arthur A. Levine Books

Description

Arthur A. Levine Books was founded in 1996 and is an imprint of Scholastic Inc. We published our first book, When She Was Good by Norma Fox Mazer, in the fall of 1997. Since then, our imprint has produced more than three hundred works of hardcover literary fiction and nonfiction for children and teenagers (and more than a few discerning adults) under the editorial direction of Arthur A. Levine.

We work with a distinguished and diverse list of American authors and illustrators at various phases of their careers, from newcomers like Sarah Moon, Tony Piedra and Caroline Hadilaksono to award-winners like Daniel José Older, Francisco X. Stork, Alaya Dawn Johnson, Varian Johnson, Shaun Tan, Martha Brockenbrough, Amy Sarig King, and Allen Say. We also strive to bring the best of the world’s literature to the United States through the work of such famed international authors and illustrators as J. K. Rowling, Emma Donoghue, Komako Sakai, Nahoko Uehashi, Astrid Lindgren, and Jaclyn Moriarty.

We hope to bring you exciting, delightful, and ground-breaking work by these authors and fresh faces including Aida Salazar, Kristin Giang, Shirley Chan, Shannon Wright, and more. This is an imprint that loves great books and is fueled by a passionate mission to bring them to you.
