John Foster was a teacher for 20 years before becoming a full-time writer. He is the author of twelve books of poetry and over 150 anthologies. He has performed at all the UK’s national book festivals and visits schools and libraries regularly. His books include The Poetry Chest, The Oxford First Book of Poetry, Dinosaur Poems, Dragon Poems and Magic Poems. He lives in Oxfordshire.
KORKY PAUL was born Zimbabwe. He studied Fine Arts at Durban Art School and Film Animation at CalArts, California. He began his career in advertising before becoming an award-winning illustrator of children’s books. He has illustrated the “Winnie The Witch” series for Oxford University Press, which won the Children’s Book Award. Now published in over 30 languages and sales of 6 million world wide. Soon to be a TV series called Winnie and Wilbur on Channel 5 ‘Milkshake’. Winner too, of Supporter of the Year for Summertown Stars Football Club. Korky has illustrated several other successful books for Frances Lincoln, Oxford, Penguin, Random House including anthologies of poems edited by John Foster and Michael Rosen. Known only to himself as the ‘World’s Greatest Portrait Artist – and Dinosaur Drawer’, Korky visits schools and festivals promoting his passion for drawing. He is a patron of The Art Room, Pegasus Theatre, ARCh, Reading Quest and The Stratford Literary Festival. He now works in Oxford, but every summer he lives it up in Greece with his family.
