Dog Man Books

Start with Dog Man and follow the publisher's numbered order through Big Jim Believes. Characters and relationships develop across the series, so publication order gives children the clearest introduction even though each book has its own comic adventure.

A Sprinkle in Time is the next Dog Man adventure, but it is scheduled for November 3, 2026 and is not included among the 14 published books on this page.

Cat Kid Comic Club is a five-book spin-off about Li'l Petey, Molly, Flippy, and a class of baby frogs learning to make comics. It is a good next choice for children who enjoy the Dog Man characters and creative artwork, but it is not required reading between numbered Dog Man books.

The books contain frequent cartoon battles, chases, explosions, robots, villains, and exaggerated danger, along with toilet humor, deliberate misspellings, and plenty of visual chaos. The action is silly rather than realistic or gory, although later books sometimes pause for more serious feelings about family, mistakes, and forgiveness.

Short sections, expressive pictures, and visual jokes can make the series welcoming for children who are still gaining confidence with longer books. The publisher recommends Dog Man for ages seven and up, but children need to be comfortable following busy comic panels and recurring characters.
