Isabel Thomas studied Human Sciences at the University of Oxford. She is a science writer and children’s author who has been shortlisted for the Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize, the ASE Science Book of the Year, and the Blue Peter Book Awards. Isabel also writes for children’s science magazine Whizz Pop Bang, and for science outreach projects. She is a primary school governor and STEM Ambassador.
Dan Green is an award-winning children’s author who has sold millions of books worldwide. He specializes in all things scientific, from the periodic table and the human body, to rocks, space exploration and climate change. Living in London, he is a fan of jokes, traveling and dinosaurs!
Danielle Jawando is a children’s author and screenwriter. Danielle’s short story Kyle’s City was broadcast by the BBC and her debut novel is out in 2020.
Hannah Warren is an award-winning illustrator, whose bold, colorful, and slightly whimsical illustrations reference retro design and travel posters from the 1960s. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art, Hannah has worked with an impressive list of clients, including Stella magazine, Phaidon, and Thames & Hudson. She lives in London.
Anke Weckmann is a German-born freelance illustrator, who honed her craft at Camberwell College of Art and Kingston University. Her clients include the Times, the Guardian, and Time Out New York. She lives in London.
Katja Spitzer is a Berlin-based illustrator. Her many books include Quodlibet, which received a Gold Medal award from 3x3 magazine and two children’s books, How Many Legs? and Let’s Go Outside.

Rachel Katstaller is an illustrator and strategic designer from tiny tropical El Salvador. She graduated with honors as a strategic designer from the Escuela de Comunicación Mónica Herrera in 2013, and took up the Summer Residency in Illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York City in the summer of 2014. Since then, Rachel has relocated to the Alps along with her cat, Hemingway.
Paola Escobar, the illustrator of Planting Stories: The Life of Librarian and Storyteller Pura Belpré, grew up traveling from town to town in Colombia. From a very young age she liked to draw the stories her grandmother Clara told about her ancestors, the countryside, and animals. Today, Paola is an illustrator who is passionate about telling stories of her own, having published with SM Spain, Planeta, Norma, and more. She lives very happily in Bogotá, Colombia, with her husband and their dog, Flora.
