Nicola Davies is a zoologist and award-winning author whose many books for children include Surprising Sharks, illustrated by James Croft; Extreme Animals, illustrated by Neal Layton; and The Promise, illustrated by Laura Carlin. Nicola Davies lives in Wales.

Martin Jenkins has written many celebrated books for children, including The Emperor’s Egg, illustrated by Jane Chapman, and Can We Save the Tiger?, illustrated by Vicky White. Martin Jenkins lives in England, where he also works as a conservation biologist.

Vivian French has written more than 250 books for young readers, including Growing Frogs and T. Rex, both illustrated by Alison Bartlett, as well as the Tales from the Five Kingdoms series. She lives in Scotland.

Raymond Huber has been a social worker, gardener, primary school teacher, lecturer, writer, and editor. He is the author of Flight of the Honey Bee, illustrated by Brian Lovelock, as well as other books for young readers. Raymond Huber lives in New Zealand.

Sarah Fox-Davies has illustrated many picture books for children, including LITTLE CARIBOU, which she also wrote, and WALK WITH A WOLF by Janni Howker. While painting the illustrations for this book, Sarah Fox-Davies says that a pipistrelle bat flew into her studio–and right onto her desk!

Nick Maland is the illustrator of numerous books for children. He has collaborated with author Kathryn Cave on four books: You’ve Got Dragons, The Brave Little Grork, Friends, and The Boy Who Became an Eagle. He lives in England. He has recently illustrated Mr Tiger, Betsy and the Blue Moon written by Sally Gardner and published by Penguin Workshop.

Jane Chapman is the illustrator of over one hundred books for children, including Dilly Duckling by Claire Freedman and I Love My Mama by Peter Kavanagh, as well as Karma Wilson’s Bear Snores On, Bear Wants More, Bear Stays Up for Christmas, and Mortimer’s Christmas Manger. Charlotte Voake is the author-illustrator of Ginger, which was short-listed for the Kate Greenaway Medal; Ginger Finds a Home; and Hello Twins, a New York Times Book Review Best Illustrated Children’s Book of the Year. She is also the illustrator of Charlotte Zolotow’s Say It!, Steve Voake’s Insect Detective, and Vivian French’s Caterpillar, Caterpillar. Charlotte Voake lives in Surrey, England.

Salvatore Rubbino is the author-illustrator of A Walk in New York and A Walk in London, the latter of which is an ode to his home city.

Emily Sutton was born and raised in the depths of North Yorkshire, England, and graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2008. She is the illustrator of the Clara Button books by Amy de la Hay and The Tale of Castle Mice by Michael Bond.

Luciano Lozano Raya was born in southern Spain. He studied illustration in Barcelona, where he now lives. His work reflects a strong sense of color and texture, a frequent use of traditional techniques, and an undercurrent of subtle humor running throughout.
