There are plenty of alphabet books out there, and even plenty of alphabet books about food available. This one is really great! I love that there are a lot of foods and culinary concepts included that my pre-schooler really didn't know about, so she was able to learn a lot. Having learned about foods and concepts made her more interested in eating new things too!

4.5

The variety of food and cooking related concepts present in this book will come as no surprise to fans of Cook's Illustrated or America's Test Kitchen (the creator of this book!) This book is as thorough as their recipes normally are and will give early exposure to a host of concepts and cooking ideas. That being said, this board book definitely falls into the camp of "it's technically a board book, but it's meant for the enjoyment of the parents who are really interested in cooking more than the kids". So... get this for your cooking loving friends with a new baby, and they'll be thrilled.
