How to Read the InvestiGators Books

Start with InvestiGators and read the nine numbered volumes through Weather or Not. Cases have their own comic mysteries, but villains, agency changes, and friendships carry from one book to the next.

Case Files is an unnumbered interactive collection in which readers help Mango and Brash solve six mysteries. It was published between Class Action and Weather or Not, but Macmillan identifies Weather or Not—not Case Files—as Volume 9.

Agents of S.U.I.T. follows supporting agents on their own missions. Four volumes are published; Tomb and Gloom is Volume 5 but is scheduled for February 16, 2027 and is not counted on this page yet.

For parents

What Parents Should Know

Expect cartoon fights, chases, captures, explosions, bizarre villains, and frequent toilet jokes. Characters face danger and sometimes appear defeated, but the colorful artwork and nonstop puns keep the tone comic rather than realistic or frightening.

The panels can be visually busy and the books use acronyms, wordplay, and recurring characters. Children who enjoy rereading illustrations for clues and jokes may find that density rewarding; very new graphic-novel readers may benefit from starting with the first book together.
