The Creatives Behind the Books
Jannie Ho was born in Hong Kong and raised in Philadelphia. She has a BFA in illustration from Parsons the New School. After working as a graphic designer and an art director, she decided that illustration was her true calling and now specializes in illustrating for the children’s market. Her work has appeared in both trade and educational books, magazines, toys, crafts, and digital media. She lives with her husband and daughter in Boston.
Julia Donaldson was the U.K. Children’s Laureate for 2011-2013. She and Axel Scheffler are the award-winning, bestselling team who created The Gruffalo, which was made into an Oscar-nominated short film. They both live in the United Kingdom.
Nikki Dyson is the illustrator of a number of picture books for children, including Dinosaurs Don’t Have Bedtimes by Timothy Knapman. She has also done work for Hallmark and National Geographic Kids. She lives in England.
