This book is a classic for a reason! I love it for two different reasons...1) I love that there isn't really a big happy ending--it's not that Alexander ends up turning his day around (which would also make for a great book). Sometimes we just all have a bad day, which is why this story is so relatable. This book acknowledges emotions and feelings and helps us realize that even if we're having a bad day, there's always tomorrow. And takeaway #2) This book is also hilarious and helps us all realize that our day could get much worse. ;) It's sure to make anyone's bad day turn around!
It's funny, it's silly, and the message is super simple and surprisingly powerful: we all have bad days sometimes. There's something so relatable about Alexander, no matter how young or old we are and no matter what our personal version of a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day looks like, exactly. This book is a classic for a reason, and I think it will continue to be lovable and relatable for generations to come, all around the world--even in Australia.
