How do Bookroo quizzes work?
Updated
Every Bookroo quiz is built fresh from a bank of questions written for that book. Each quiz is drawn from across the whole book, and retakes get different questions.
Length
| Book | Questions |
|---|---|
| Picture books and early readers | 5 |
| Most chapter books | 10 |
| 100,000+ words | 15 |
| 200,000+ words | 20 |
Passing
- The default pass mark is 60% for 5- and 10-question quizzes and 70% for 15- and 20-question quizzes.
- You can set each length anywhere from 60% to 80% under Settings → Book Quizzes → Minimum Score to Pass.
Retakes
- A student who doesn't pass can try again after 14 days by default. Change it (3–90 days) with Retake Wait Days in Settings.
- Retakes favor questions the student hasn't seen yet, and answer choices are reshuffled. Memorizing the last attempt doesn't help.
- There's no cap on attempts. Once a quiz is passed, it can't be retaken.
- To let one student retry sooner, see Change a retake date or certify.
Other quiz settings
Settings → Book Quizzes also has:
- Require Password: students need a teacher-entered password to start a quiz.
- Resume Quiz: an unfinished quiz is abandoned after 8 days.
