Poppy Louise is just the kind of friend I need, someone who is bold and spunky, a little braver than I am who can step up when courage fails others and still enjoy the companionship of friends in slightly tamer activities. Props to Jenna McCarthy for letting her off easily at the end when her courage might just have faltered for a moment. I love Molly Idle's marvelous illustrations. Masterful use of white space and many full-page illustrations make this book a visual delight.
