Does my gift renew?

It depends on which gift you chose. A One-time gift never renews: it ends after its last box. A Subscription gift renews, and charges the giver's card, until the giver cancels it.
Check which you have
Open the club under Account → Book Clubs → View club:
- Expires with a date: a one-time gift. Nothing to do; it stops on its own.
- Renews with a date and amount: a renewing subscription. It will charge again on that date.
Stop a gift from renewing
Email support@bookroo.com with your order number, or your name and email, and say you'd like the gift to stop renewing. Write before 11:59 PM Pacific on the 15th of the renewal month. If a renewal was charged that same day, it's refunded in full; after that, that month's box ships and isn't refunded. See How do I cancel my subscription?.
Keep the boxes coming after a one-time gift
If you received a one-time gift and want more, sign in with the account the gift came to and join a club from Join a club before the gift's last box. The new subscription sits beside the gift in the same account, so there's no gap.
Why it happens
At checkout, the plan step offers Subscription (renews every 1, 3, 6 or 12 months) and One-time (paid once). A gift bought as a Subscription keeps renewing, just like a subscription for your own family.
