A quiz request is Delayed. How do I write the quiz myself?
Step by step · Updated
Open the request's … menu and choose Contribute quiz. Once you submit your questions, the quiz unlocks for your students straight away. You don't need to wait for our quiz team.
Steps
- Open your class and click Quizzes in the sidebar.
- Scroll down to Book Quiz Requests. Tick Show only delayed requests to list just the ones marked Delayed.
- Click … next to the request → Contribute quiz.
- For each question, fill in the question, the Correct answer, and Wrong answer #1, #2 and #3.
- Click Submit quiz. It turns on once enough questions are complete: 6, or 12 for books for older readers. Add another question adds more.
If you close the form part-way, Bookroo asks Discard quiz? Choose Finish writing quiz to keep your questions.
Writing good questions
- Ask about memorable or key events in the book.
- Make each question easy for someone who read the book and hard for someone who didn't. Don't be tricky.
- Write your own questions. They can't be copied from another source.
What happens after you submit
- The request shows Available. The student finds the book under Quizzes You Requested on their dashboard, with a Take quiz button. See quiz request statuses.
- Who can take it now: students in your classes. If your class belongs to a school on Bookroo, students in other classes at that school can take it too.
- Our quiz team reviews it. Once approved, it's available to every Bookroo reader. If it's rejected, it's removed, even from students who have already taken it.
Good to know
- You need Edit access or higher to the class for your quiz to reach its students.
- Students can write one too. Delayed books appear on their dashboard under Quizzes Needing Your Help, with a Write a quiz button. A quiz a student writes unlocks for that student only. See Why do I see "Write a quiz"?.
- Don't want to write one? Choose Admin certify in the same menu to credit the student's reading instead. See Change a retake date or certify.
