Can I make students pass a quiz before they get points?

Yes. You set it per student, so you can hold some students to it and not others.

1. Go to Settings and scroll to Student Restrictions.
2. For each student, set Recording Reading:
   • No restrictions: points arrive as soon as they record reading.
   • Quiz or admin certified: reading counts, but no points arrive until the student passes that book's quiz or you certify it.
   • Admin controlled: only you (or another class admin) can record reading for them.
3. To apply one setting to the whole class, use the Update all students row.

Certifying without a quiz: open the Quizzes tab → magnifying glass on the student → … → Admin certify.
