Discover the basics of practicing yoga by tracing the story of its beginnings in India, showing how its earliest practitioners observed things in nature, such as trees, cats, snakes, and lions, and then imitated their poses. They realized that the most simple and natural thing to do is breathe; the practice of yoga starts with becoming mindful of one’s own breath and then learning how to breathe and do nothing more. Míriam Raventós was born and still lives in Barcelona, Spain. It wasn’t until her thirties that she began training to be a yoga instructor. She now teaches at Proyoga, a yoga studio that her mother founded in 1985. Maria Girón was also born in Barcelona and grew up in Garrotxa, Spain. She studied fine arts at the University of Barcelona and illustration at the Llotja School of Art and Design in Barcelona.
