How do students earn points?
Updated
Each time a student records reading, they earn points for it. Each entry scores the highest of three measures. The measures are never added together.
| Measure | Points |
|---|---|
| Each book finished | 100 |
| Each page read (books of 48+ pages) | 10 |
| Each minute read | 8 |
Example: 20 minutes of a 200-page novel covering 15 pages scores 160 (20 × 8). The pages would only give 150, so they don't count.
Weekly cap
- Students can earn up to 1,000 points a week.
- The week resets early Monday morning: midnight Pacific in summer, 11 pm Sunday Pacific in winter.
Two kinds of points
- Purple points are spent in the Bookroo Rewards Shop (avatars, sticker packs, bookmarks, postcards, gem polishing and more).
- Blue points are spent on the custom rewards you create for your class (see Rewards).
